"I'm not doing, per se, book repair," said Scholtz. "I’m doing book conservation. I want to be able to conserve the book and put it into the condition, roughly, the same as it was when the last person used this without it falling apart. I want to conserve it so that people can use it again."

Update: We are sad to report that on June 19 2023, Matt Scholtz passed away quietly and peacefully surrounded by friends and family. We have left the website as it was when he passed away.

Yes, my pilot's log arrived today safe and sound. I am thrilled beyond words. Thanks so much again.

I will hang on to your card and will not hesitate to recommend you to anyone interested.

I am very happy how you were able to repair my cookbook. I never imaged that it could be fixed the way did. The cookbook was a present from my mother long time ago, in 1971. And has many great recipes from Europe. Thank you so much for your professionalism and workmanship.

On behalf of the members of St. Paul's United Church I want to thank you for repairing our two Bibles. The lectern Bible was of special significance...Your special skill has given them new life. They will be treasured for many more years.

Our new member register for our Masonic Lodge...was in very rough shape and needed some love to keep it in one piece and usable in the future. So we asked Matt to restore it for us.

...After a short period of time, Kevin and I went to pick up the repaired register. It was better than either of us expected.

It is an honour that Kevin and I could get the historic Lodge Register repaired and hopefully will be used for another 150 years.

Both Kevin and I would highly recommend for anyone having an old book to contact Matt Scholtz and have him preserve it for you.
